Chinese medicine is a holistic approach to healing, able to treat physical symptoms and simultaneously address the underlying causes of disease.
It sees the individual’s physical, emotional and mental states as interdependent, and is ideally suited to modern life.
Through my clinical experience in the UK and China, I have developed a particular interest in women's health and fertility, muscle and joint pain, pain relief, auto-immune and chronic conditions, and supporting general well-being.
While studying in Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China, I also trained in scalp acupuncture, a contemporary acupuncture technique that integrates traditional Chinese needling methods with Western medical knowledge of the cerebral cortex.
Scalp acupuncture is used to affect the functions of the central nervous system, and is useful in the rehabilitation of post-stroke paralysis and reducing the symptoms of neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis.
